# Dubsado alternatives for event vendors.

Vendors look past Dubsado when its setup effort, yearly plan or lack of customer discovery doesn't fit. Alternatives: bzar, which is free and starts from a storefront with bookable packages; HoneyBook for simpler proposals; Square Appointments for timed bookings; or a spreadsheet, a contract template and a payment link.

## Powerful, but a lot to set up.

Dubsado is workflow software for creative and service businesses: forms, contracts, invoices, a scheduler and a client portal, sold as a subscription. It's configurable, which also means time spent building templates and automations before your first booking. We couldn't find a public storefront or a marketplace that sends you customers on its site.

If you run every client through a long, set process, that depth is the point. If you mostly sell a handful of packages for a date, you may be paying for more than you use.

## Four ways to replace it.

- [bzar](https://bzar.app/for-vendors): Free for vendors; set up packages on a storefront instead of building workflows.
- [HoneyBook](https://bzar.app/compare/honeybook): Subscription proposals, contracts and invoices with a simpler flow.
- [Square Appointments](https://bzar.app/compare/square-appointments): Timed appointments and in-person payments, with a free plan.
- [A spreadsheet, a contract template and a payment link](https://bzar.app/templates/event-vendor-contract-template): Free and fully in your hands. It works for a handful of bookings a month, but every reminder and follow-up is manual.

## Start from the package, not the workflow.

- No subscription for vendors, so there's no plan to outgrow.
- Add your packages and prices once and share one storefront link.
- Customers request a date and pay a deposit online; the balance can be charged automatically.
- Attach a contract to a package for the customer to sign before they pay.
- Ask customers your own questions when they inquire.

## Who should stay with Dubsado.

- You want the most configurable client workflow engine, with automated flows, conditional forms and smart-field templates.
- You prefer a flat yearly plan and run a studio-style business with long client journeys, such as weddings or design.
- You need bookkeeping integrations, Zapier, multiple brands, or payments through Square or PayPal as well as Stripe.

## Questions

**Is there a simpler tool than Dubsado?**

For event vendors who sell packages, yes. bzar replaces the workflow build with a storefront and bookable packages, and a spreadsheet plus a contract template is simpler still if volume is low.

**Does Dubsado find me customers?**

We couldn't find a customer marketplace on its site. It has lead-capture forms for your own website. bzar's marketplace is where customers planning events in the DC area find you.

**Can I move my contracts over?**

You can reuse the wording. Start from the vendor contract template, adjust it to match your current terms, and have a lawyer review it.
