# Hand over ownership (/help/organizers/team/transfer-ownership)



**What you'll get:** a new owner, with you staying on as an Admin.

**Before you start:** the new owner must already be an **Admin**. See [change a role](/help/organizers/team/change-or-remove).

**You're done when** you see &#x2A;*Ownership transferred.** Your role is now Admin.


## Common questions

### Who can do this?

Only the current owner.

### Why isn't the person I want in the list?

Only Admins can become owner. Change their role to **Admin** on **Members** first.

### Can I undo it?

Only the new owner can transfer it back to you.
