# How much should you charge vendors?

Add up what the event costs you, divide by the booths you expect to actually sell, then add the profit you want. That's your booth fee. Enter your numbers below; the calculator also shows what a vendor pays at checkout on bzar.

## How it works

- Break-even fee = (venue cost + other costs) ÷ booths you expect to sell.
- Suggested fee = (costs + your profit goal) ÷ booths you expect to sell, rounded to the nearest five dollars.
- Plan on selling fewer booths than you have. Most first-time markets don't fill every spot.

Example: a $1,500 venue, $500 of other costs, 40 booths with 80% expected to sell and a $1,000 profit goal gives a break-even fee of $62.50 and a suggested fee of $95. On bzar a vendor would pay $101.97 at checkout, and you receive the full booth fee.

## Questions

**How much do vendors usually pay for a booth?**

It depends on the event: small community markets and pop-ups charge far less than juried holiday markets and big festivals. Start from your own costs rather than copying another market's price.

**Should food vendors pay more?**

Often, yes. Food vendors usually need more space, power and water, and they tend to sell more, so many markets charge them a higher booth fee.

**Should I charge an application fee?**

A small application fee confirms the vendor's card works and filters for vendors who mean to show up. On bzar it's your choice per event.
