Trunk show
A trunk show is a sales event where a designer, maker or brand brings a collection to a shop, home or boutique to show and sell it directly to invited customers. Pieces may be sold on the spot or ordered for later. The host often takes a share of sales or offers a perk.

About trunk show.
Also called: trunk-show, designer trunk show, trunk sale.
The name comes from designers bringing clothing or jewelry in trunks. Today it covers any small, personal sales event with one brand or a few.
Hosts handle invitations and space, and the vendor handles inventory and payments. Agree in writing on who gets what share and who handles returns.
Compared with a market, a trunk show has fewer shoppers but warmer ones, so sales per person are often higher.
