What should your package cost?
Price from your time and costs, not from a competitor's menu. Count every hour the job takes, including prep and admin, at what you want to earn, add materials and travel, then add a margin for slow months and gear. Enter your numbers to get a package price.

The math.
- Your time = (hours at the event + prep, travel and admin hours) × what you want to earn per hour.
- Package price = (your time + materials + travel) ÷ (1 − your profit margin), rounded up to the nearest five dollars.
- Per-guest price = package price ÷ guests, for work priced by headcount.
Common questions.
Should I charge by the hour or by the package?
Packages are easier for clients to compare and say yes to. Build each package from the hours it takes, then add extra-hour and add-on prices for anything beyond it.
How many packages should I offer?
Three works for most vendors: a small one, the one most clients pick, and a bigger one. Too many choices slow clients down.
Should I show prices on my storefront?
Showing a starting price filters out clients who can't afford you and saves both sides a call. You can still quote custom work separately.
