HoneyBook alternatives for event vendors.
Event vendors usually leave HoneyBook over the monthly subscription, or because it only handles clients they already have. Alternatives: bzar, which is free and adds a public storefront and market applications; Dubsado for deeper workflows; Square Appointments for timed bookings and card readers; or a simple spreadsheet, contract and payment link.

What HoneyBook does, and what it doesn't.
HoneyBook is a subscription tool for proposals, contracts, invoices, scheduling and a client portal. You pay a monthly plan plus card or bank-transfer processing fees. It's built for clients who already found you; we couldn't find a public storefront, a marketplace that sends you customers, or market applications on its site.
If you have a steady flow of referrals and only need professional paperwork, that gap may not matter. If you also need to be found, or you sell at markets, it's worth looking at the options below.
Four ways to replace it.
If you want to be booked, not just organized.
- No subscription for vendors, and Pro is included when you take bookings.
- A storefront page with your packages and a booking link you can put in your Instagram bio.
- Customers request a date from your packages and pay a deposit online.
- Quotes and invoices that customers pay online.
- Apply to markets and events and pay booth fees by card in the same place.
Who should stay with HoneyBook.
- You run bespoke, multi-step client work and want one proposal that combines service selection, contract signature and payment.
- You rely on heavy back-office automation such as pipelines, scheduled messages and accounting sync, and you're fine paying a monthly plan for it.
- You already have your own client flow from referrals, Instagram or a website, and you need paperwork rather than a place to be discovered.
Common questions.
Is there a free alternative to HoneyBook?
bzar is free for vendors, and Square Appointments has a free plan. A spreadsheet, a contract template and a payment link also cost nothing, but you do the follow-ups yourself. HoneyBook has no free plan; we found a free trial only.
Can I use bzar and keep HoneyBook?
Yes. You can keep HoneyBook for long client projects and use a bzar storefront to get found and take simple package bookings. Finish bookings already in progress where they started.
What do I lose if I leave HoneyBook?
Check the features you actually use, such as automations, a mobile app or accounting sync, before you move. Compare them with the other tool on the head-to-head page.
