Load-in and load-out

Load-in is the time window when vendors arrive, unload and set up before an event opens. Load-out is when they pack up and leave after it closes. Organizers set windows and routes to avoid traffic jams, protect the venue and keep customers safe, and vendors must stick to them.

Good schedules stagger arrival by vendor type or booth zone and name the unloading area, parking and any rule about driving in the venue during open hours.

Breaking down early while shoppers are present is a common problem. Many organizers require vendors to stay until closing.

Vendors should plan extra time for carts, stairs and parking. Late arrivals may lose their spot.
