Vendor mix (category caps)
Vendor mix is the balance of different kinds of sellers at an event. Organizers keep it healthy with category caps, which limit how many vendors can sell the same thing, such as candles or jewelry. A good mix gives shoppers variety and keeps vendors from competing head to head.

About vendor mix.
Also called: category caps, vendor categories, category limits, product mix.
Caps are set per category, for example a small number of candle makers and a larger number of jewelry makers, based on the venue and the audience.
Applicants in a full category are usually waitlisted instead of rejected. Say how categories work on the application so vendors know why.
Also consider handmade versus resale and food versus retail. Balanced mixes tend to bring better sales for everyone.
Organizers sell booth types with their own prices and quantities and can approve, reject or waitlist each application.
