Pricing guide

How to price henna.

To price henna, time real jobs from arrival to leaving, then add paste and supplies, travel and parking, and a margin for fees and slow weeks. Price bridal sets as a package, parties by the hour with a cap on guests, and market designs per piece, with a deposit that holds the date.

What to count

Your hours include the parts nobody sees.

Henna looks like a few hours at the event. You also mix paste, pack, drive, find parking, set up, wait for the bride to be ready and clean up. Time a few real jobs from the moment you leave to the moment you arrive home.

  • Your time at the hourly income you want, including a consult or design call for bridal work.
  • Paste ingredients, cones, aftercare balm and sealing supplies, and the waste from paste that dries before you use it.
  • Travel time both ways and parking, not only mileage.
  • Insurance, any local body-art rules or licenses, and sanitizing supplies.
  • Card and platform fees, taxes, and a lost evening when you hold a date you cannot sell twice.
Pricing models

By time, by design or by package.

  • Bridal package: both hands and feet, a set start time, a design call beforehand and travel to the bride's location.
  • Hourly for parties: sell a block of hours with a cap on guests and designs, so the line never outlasts your booked time.
  • Per design or size for markets and walk-ups: a short menu of sizes with a clear price each, so you never negotiate at the booth.
  • Per person for small groups: a price per guest with a minimum group size to justify travel.
  • Add-ons: a rush design, a full arm, a guest party, extra time and travel bands.
What moves the price

Detail, coverage and distance.

  • Detail and coverage: a fine, full-coverage bridal design takes much longer than a simple palm design.
  • Guest count and event length: more people means more artists or more hours.
  • Travel: use distance bands and count the full time away.
  • Date and season: Eid, wedding season and holiday weekends hold dates you can sell once.
  • Rush and late changes: short notice and a bride who is late both cost you booked time.
Deposits, minimums and raising prices

A date that cannot be resold needs a deposit.

A bridal date cannot be resold at short notice, so a deposit that holds it is fair. Many artists make it non-refundable but transferable to a new date if the client reschedules in good time. Put the rule in writing. The booking deposit calculator shows a deposit and balance.

Set a minimum booking so a short job still covers travel and setup. When your calendar fills or your costs grow, raise the price for new inquiries and keep existing bookings at the price agreed.

  • Worked example in the calculator: enter [Event hours] plus [Prep, travel and design call hours] and [Your hourly income], add [Paste and supplies] and [Travel], then choose [Profit margin]. The result is a package price for the event.
  • Divide the party package by [Guests served] to check that a per-person price makes sense at your pace.
Showing prices, and where bzar fits

Post a clear menu beside your photos.

Show your bridal, party and market options with a starting price for each, the travel area, and how much notice you need. Photos of finished designs sit best next to the price for that kind of job.

  • A storefront page with your packages, photos and a booking link.
  • Customers request a date and pay a deposit online.
  • Card payments add a service fee for the customer on top of your price.
Questions

Common questions.

How much should I charge for henna?

Time a real job from leaving home to arriving back, count paste, supplies and travel, and add your target income. Use the package pricing calculator to turn that into a price.

How much do henna artists charge per hour?

It depends on your costs and the income you want. Work backward from your hours, including travel and prep, rather than from another artist's rate.

How do I price bridal henna?

Sell it as a package covering the coverage, a start time, the design call and travel, and take a deposit that holds the date.

Should I price henna per design or by the hour?

Per design suits markets and walk-ups. Hourly with a guest cap suits private parties, and packages suit weddings.
