Selling at and running markets in Oklahoma.
In Oklahoma, organizers of craft shows and flea markets apply to the Tax Commission for a special event permit at least 20 days ahead and collect sales tax from vendors without permits. Temporary food licenses come through State Department of Health county offices, and home producers may sell under the Agriculture Department's food freedom law.

Farmers markets and produce.
Farmers market registration and guidelines
The Health Department's guidelines say a farmers market needs written operating guidelines, at least six vendors and a market manager or advisory board, and must be registered with the Department of Agriculture. A license is not required for a vendor selling only whole produce they grew at a registered market, but resale, packaged or processed foods and mobile units need a license, and no temporary licenses are issued at farmers markets.

- A 2024 proposed Tax Commission rule amendment would also require a list of registered vendors at least 10 days before each event and a list of attendees within 15 days after (https://oklahoma.gov/content/dam/ok/en/tax/documents/resources/rules-and-policies/agency-rules/proposed-rules/2024/710-Chapter-65.pdf); confirm with the Tax Commission whether it is final.
- The Health Department's farmers market guidelines say no temporary licenses are issued at farmers markets, while its licensure page lists a Farmers Market temporary fee; ask the county health department which applies to a given vendor.
- Oklahoma City-County Health Department asks organizers to send a vendor list 10 business days before an event and pay in person at least two weeks before; other counties may differ.
