Explained

About application fee.

Also called: vendor application fee, submission fee, application charge.

It is not the same as the booth fee, which is the price of the space and is typically refunded if the vendor is declined. The application fee stays with the organizer in most setups.

Organizers use it to cover the work of reviewing many applications or to confirm a working card. Vendors should expect to pay it when they apply, before they know the result.

State the amount, what it covers and the refund rule on the application page so no one is surprised.

Organizers can charge their own application fee on any event, and it goes to them.
