Signing up and setup
Create your vendor account, answer the booking question, build your storefront and first package, choose Free or bzar Pro, and connect payouts.
Setup takes you from a new account to a storefront you can share. Baz, your bzar assistant, walks you through it. Your progress saves as you go, so you can leave and pick up where you stopped.
Where to start: click Become a Vendor on the bzar home page, or choose Vendor when bzar asks how you'll use it.
1. The basics
After a short hello from Baz, you fill in:
- Your name and phone number.
- Your business name, what you sell or offer (pick one or more categories), and where you're based.
- Can customers hire you for a private event? For example, a wedding, birthday or company event.
The booking question
Your answer decides which setup you see:
- Yes, I take private bookings — you set up packages that customers can request, book and pay for, plus your plan and payouts.
- No, I mainly sell at markets or online — you set up a storefront with products and can connect payouts. You don't see packages, booking setup or the plan step.
You can still apply to public markets and events either way. To change your answer later, open Settings → Business type.
2. Your storefront
Next you see your storefront the way customers will, and you edit any section right on the page: your cover and photos, your description, your home base and the area you serve.
3. Your first package
If you take private bookings, you add one thing customers can hire you for. For each package you set a name, what's included, a price (or a custom quote), the questions customers answer when they request it, and your terms. You can add more packages later.
Let Baz read your price guide. Under Choose your package guide, upload a menu, price sheet, brochure or package list (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, CSV, TXT, JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 15 MB). Baz suggests packages from it. Check each suggestion's name, price and what's included, then add the ones you want. Nothing is added or published until you choose it.
If you sell products, you can connect your Square catalog during setup and review the imported products before they appear on your storefront. You can also add products yourself.
4. Review and publish
Review shows your whole storefront. Before publishing, a list shows anything that's still required.
- Publish storefront makes your storefront public.
- Save draft & continue keeps your storefront private and moves you on. You can publish later from Storefront.
Your packages appear to customers only after you connect payouts (step 7).
5. See how a booking works
Baz plays a short walkthrough of a booking on your own storefront: a customer's request, their acceptance and payment. It's a simulation. No real bookings, messages or payments are created. Use Next to move through it or Skip to go on. If you sell products, Baz shows how selling at an event works instead.
6. Choose your plan
- Try bzar Pro starts a free trial. Stripe saves your card and nothing is charged today. After the trial, Pro renews every month until you cancel.
- Continue with Free keeps the free vendor account. No card is needed, and you can upgrade any time.
See bzar Free and bzar Pro for the differences and fees.
7. Connect payouts
Click Connect payouts to set up Stripe, which is how customers pay you. You finish on Stripe's site and come back to bzar. Click Set up later to skip. Your packages stay hidden from customers until Stripe is ready. See getting paid.
8. Connect your tools (optional)
You can connect tools you already use, such as Gmail or your Square catalog. Everything here is optional. Click Skip for now or Set up later to finish.
After setup
Your dashboard opens with the Get started checklist, which lists what's left, such as booking setup and publishing. See dashboard overview.
To pull in more of your business later, open Storefront and click Refresh with Baz. Share your website, Instagram profile, online menu, inquiry form or files, and Baz suggests updates to your profile, packages and photos for you to review. Product sellers can also use Import products from a file on Storefront → Products.
Signing up while applying to an event
If you start from an event's Apply page without an account, you sign up and go through the same setup. The plan step tells you the free plan is all you need to apply, and shows Continue free and finish my application. When setup is done, bzar takes you back to your application. See event applications.
Existing vendors: "What's new on bzar"
If you joined bzar before the current setup, you see a one-time bzar just got a big update screen the next time you open your dashboard (or apply to a new event). It walks you through the new setup once:
- Everything you already told us is filled in, so most steps are a quick check.
- You answer the booking question again, because it decides which setup you see.
- Your packages, payouts, plan and event applications stay as they are, and a live storefront stays live.
- Optional steps can be skipped.
Click Let's take a look to start. Until you finish, the dashboard sends you back to setup, but Settings stays open. In the bzar app, a banner on Home opens the same screen.
Good to know
- Setup is on the web. The bzar app opens it in an in-app browser.
- You can change anything you set up here later from your dashboard.
