Create and publish an event
Use the event wizard to set up your event, save it as a draft, and publish it when it's ready.
Where to find it: Events → Create Event (/org-dashboard/events/new).
Your organization must be approved before you can create events.
Start an event
Click Create Event, then choose:
- Start from Scratch — a blank event.
- Clone a Previous Event — copies an earlier event's setup so you only change what's different.
The wizard
The wizard has 10 steps. You can move back and forth, and save a draft at the end.
- Basic Info — name, dates and description.
- Location — the venue and address.
- Parking — parking and transportation details for vendors and attendees.
- Media — your cover image and photos.
- Applications — whether vendors can apply, the deadline, booth pricing, who pays the fees (Fee Structure) and when vendors are charged (Payment Timing). See vendor applications.
- Documents — documents vendors must read or sign.
- Spaces & Map — space types, booths and your venue map.
- Add-ons — extras vendors can add to their booth, such as tables or power.
- Follow-ups — automated follow-up messages.
- Review — check everything, then click Publish Event or Save as Draft.
What you need to publish
bzar won't publish an event that's missing:
- A start date.
- A venue name or address.
- At least one active ticket type, if ticket sales are turned on. See selling tickets.
If something is missing, you'll see "Cannot publish. This event is missing …" with what to add.
After publishing
Open the event from Events. The Overview tab has View Public Page, and the More event actions menu (…) has:
- Unpublish Event — takes the event off bzar and back to draft.
- Cancel Event — cancels the event.
- Delete Event — only for events with no applications, orders or tickets sold. Otherwise, cancel the event instead.
Each event also has tabs for Applications, Spaces, Add-ons, Tickets, Orders, Attendees, Refund Requests, Messaging, Announcements, Documents, Follow-ups, Schedule, FAQ, Analytics, Promos and Embed.
Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Only your team can see it. |
| Published | Live on bzar. Vendors can apply and attendees can buy tickets. |
| Cancelled | The event was cancelled. |
| Completed | The event is over. |
Good to know
- Only Owners, Admins and Coordinators can create, publish or cancel events.
- Vendors approved for your event appear under Participating Vendors on its public page. The Embed tab gives you a vendor widget for your own website.
