Sell tickets
Turn on ticket sales, add ticket types, understand the 3% platform fee, and refund orders.
Where to find it: open your event from Events, then the Tickets tab.
Set up tickets
- Turn on ticket sales with the switch at the top of the Tickets tab.
- Click Add Ticket Type.
- Fill in the name, the type (Entry Ticket, Activity Ticket or Raffle Ticket), a description, the price, the total quantity, and optional limits per order and sale start and end dates.
- Optionally add Purchase Terms, which buyers must agree to before they buy that ticket.
A ticket priced at $0 shows as Free. A published event with ticket sales on needs at least one active ticket type.
Fees and payouts
- Paid tickets: bzar keeps a 3% platform fee from each ticket sale, and the rest goes to your Stripe account. For example, on a $100 ticket the buyer pays $100 and you receive $97, less Stripe's card processing fee.
- Free tickets and free events skip Stripe entirely. There's no fee, and you don't need Stripe.
- Stripe is required for paid tickets. Connect it in Settings → Payment Settings with Connect Stripe. Until it's connected, buyers can't pay for tickets to your event.
After someone buys
Buyers get a confirmation and their tickets with QR codes under My tickets (/events/my-tickets). You see orders on the Orders tab and ticket holders on the Attendees tab.
Refunds
- Open the Orders tab and find the order.
- Click Issue Refund. Choose Partial refund to refund only part of the order.
The buyer gets the refunded amount back. bzar returns its 3% fee on the refunded amount; Stripe's processing fee isn't returned. Attendees can also request a refund from My tickets. Requests show on the Refund Requests tab, where you can Approve or Deny them.
